Superintendent's Message - CCS Update - October 7, 2021

Greetings Campbell County Families,

Presented below is my most recent update, providing important information about Campbell County Schools.  I would like to invite you to read this information at your earliest convenience.

Important Dates:

Fall Break will occur the week of October 11th through October 15th.

Please enjoy next week.

Test to Stay Program:

I am happy to share that the Test to Stay program has been very successful thusfar.  At this time, I am putting forth an expansion of the Test to Stay program which will allow Test to Stay students who participate in a defined after-school programs, to continue to participate as long as they receive a negative test that morning and all the participants of that activity wear masks during the after-school program.  Please see this letter for more information.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!  School/District Improvement Surveys:

The school district and each of its schools have begun conducting needs assessments to determine next steps for our improvement planning.  This is an annual, cyclical process that helps us review and improve our operation and instruction.  To inform this process, we need stakeholder feedback.  Sometime during the next two weeks, I would like to ask families to fill out the following, linked survey.  This is a quick survey but will definitely help us as we plan for improvement. We will ask students and staff to fill out comparable surveys as well, to inform the process and help triangulate the information we receive.

District School Calendar Feedback Needed:

Our district calendar committee met recently and drafted a school calendar to be considered by the Board of Education for the 2023-24 school year.  Please see this link for information regarding the 2023-24 draft calendar and the means to provide feedback.

District COVID Numbers:

Please see the number of students who are positive or in quarantine right now.  This data continues to look better and better every week!
