Principal's Message 8.17.18

Good Afternoon CCMS Community!

We have had an awesome start to the 2018-2019 school year.  I am overjoyed by the desire to learn that this community has instilled into the hearts of our students.  This is an outstanding community and we are looking forward to what we have in front of us.  With all of that being said, below are some important dates and reminders for our students and parents.  If you have any questions please let us know as soon as possible.

Student Picture Day: ThursdayAugust, 23rd.  Forms for this will be going home with students on Tuesday so please be on the lookout for these items.  Please keep in mind that we will be photographing all students this day even if they choose not to purchase a package.

Fall MAP Testing: Begins Monday, August 27th:   This test will begin to provide your child’s teachers with information about where you child is performing at this time, and enable them to begin instructing your child in a personalized manner.  This testing will take many days and students will be completing tests in the areas of Math, Science, Reading, and Language Usage.  Please ask your student about the goals they have this year for each area and challenge them to put forth their best effort and to shoot for the stars.  Our students have tremendous potential and I am sure this test will only demonstrate that fact.

Suicide Prevention Program:  On August 28th and 29th CCMS will be presenting our suicide prevention program to all of our students during our CLC time.  If you do not want you child to participate in this program, please complete and return the opt-out form that will be sent home with students next Wednesday.  This form will need to be returned no later than Friday, August 24th so that we will be able to adequately plan for the students who are not participating.

Labor Day Holliday: No School September 3rd.  Have a safe and restful break.

Enjoy your weekend,

Matt Moore, Principal CCMS
