Career Day

We had a very successful Career Day on Thursday, March 21st.
There were 24 presenters from numerous career clusters, including a civil and electrical engineer, pilot, plumber, yoga instructor, accountant, medical technologist, veterinarians, and artist online to name a few. The third, fourth, and fifth graders were invited to attend. Each presenter had their own table in a festively decorated gym. In four separate sessions they spoke to small groups of students who had chosen to see them. There was much valuable information shared. The presenters described their careers, and experiences, and connected the importance of learning and school to choosing a career. The students were receptive and engaged in what was going on, and talked about it later. The day began with a continental breakfast, and art students made “dream catchers” for the presenters so they would remember Cline.

America's Legislators Visit Cline
Senator Katie Stine and State Representative Joe Fischer visited Cline's fifth graders to teach the nation’s future voters and leaders what it is like to be a state legislator. They discussed the process, pressures, debates, negotiations, and compromises that are the very fabric of representative democracy. This was a great opportunity for state legislators to meet with young constituents in classrooms and answer questions, share ideas, and listen to concerns and impart a greater understanding of the legislative process necessary for developing effective public policy and engaged citizens.
