Freshman Orientation

Incoming Freshman Orientation will take place on Thursday, August 7th from 8:00 am - 11:00 am. Incoming Camels are encouraged to attend to meet their teachers, learn about the Freshman Academy and get information that is vital to having a successful year. Parents please drop your students off at the Gymnasium Entrance located at the back of school in the Student Parking Lot.


SUMMER READING ASSIGNMENTS

ALL CCHS students have summer reading assignments.  English required reading and assignments, along with foreign language summer coursework, APUSH, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, and AP Studio Art are linked here


Parking Passes for 2014-2015 School Year

Junior and Senior students interested in purchasing a parking tag for the 2014-2015 school year need to contact the office and sign up for a spot.  They may call during the week of July 21 to 25, 635-4161, ext. 232, and leave their name and grade OR they may email Mr. Franzen at dan.franzen@campbell.kyschools.us .  Students must be a junior or senior and have their intermediate license.  Students must have good attendance in order to be eligible to receive a parking spot.  Attendance records will be checked before a tag is issued.  Parking will be assigned randomly and tags will be available the week of Aug. 4th – 8th.

Ackerson Takes 1st in Bull Riding Competition

Chase Ackerson won 1st place in the state for Bull Riding.  The competition was sponsored by the National High School Rodeo Association.  He is a 2014 graduate of CCHS. Chase will be competing in the National competition on July 12th.

Teen Drivers

If you turn 16 this summer and want to get your temps, you need a Driver’s School Compliance Verification form. The school will be open this summer except from June 20- July 7.  Please call ahead so we can get it ready for you.  The number is (859) 635-4161.


SUMMER FOOD PROGRAM ANNOUNCED

The Campbell County School Nutrition Department is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to all children 18 and under without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability. There will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service.  Meals will be provided at the following sites:

                            Campbell County Middle School        

Monday through Friday, June 9 - June 20 and July 7 – August 1, 2014

 

Crossroads Elementary School and Campbell Ridge Elementary School

Monday through Friday, July 7 – August 1, 2014

Breakfast 8:45 am – 9:30 am /Lunch 11:31 am – 12:15 pm at all sites

CCS Awarded 2nd National Ranking

Campbell County High School has received a second National Ranking  with being named "One of America's Most Challenging High Schools by the Washington Post.  This recognition is based on strong Advanced Placement programs.

High schools can achieve national rankings from approximately 3 sources:

  1. Newsweek
  2. Washington Post
  3. U.S. News and World Report

As of today, CCS has achieved national rankings in 2 of the 3 areas. Keep up the great work as we pursue 3 out of 3!


Campbell County School District is one of four school districts in the state of Kentucky and one of two school districts in Northern Kentucky to receive Kentucky's highest assessment classification "Distinguished - Progressing". Additionally, Campbell is the only county school system in the state to achieve this highest classification for state assessments.

Based on percentile rankings, school districts are categorized as Distinguished, Proficient, or Needs Improvement.
