Introduction

You are one of the best astronauts the United States has to offer. Two months ago you requested to be considered for a dangerous and exciting space flight. Congratulations, you have been chosen as the commander of that Space Shuttle flight.

Task

NASA's orders are to launch your Shuttle into orbit and explore the solar system. The information you record will be used to build a space station on one of the planets. Get as much information as possible. We don't want to build a space station on the wrong planet.

Process

You will visit each of the nine planets by clicking on its name. Read the information about the planet. In your Astronaut journal write down anything you think is interesting or important to the mission. When you are finished with that planet use the back button to return to this page. Continue with the mission until all nine planets have been logged into your journal. Make no mistake about it, this mission depends on you. You will need to take three quizzes to verify that you have successfully landed on the planets. Choose one of the Inner Planets, one of the Outer Planets, and one of the gas giants to take a quiz.

You will need to take paper, pencil, and the Internet ticket with you on the mission. Get them now if you don't have them.
