WebQuest- "Owl Zoo"

Introduction

You are a Zoologist and have been asked to preserve an owl of your choice at a zoo in your community.  You are aware of how important they are to balancing nature's wildlife and would like to demonstrate this  to others.

Task

Your job is to create a design of  an  Ecosystem for your owl.  . This would need to include other organisms ( plants, animals, insects, etc.) that would share in its community (biotic factors), and  its abiotic factors ( land, water, light, etc.)  Your design should reflect   "a window view" of  what a person would see if they were to walk through your exhibit at the zoo.  It can be designed by  creating a diorama, a poster,  or a powerpoint presentation.  By looking through this window, you are giving the public as much information as you can that would help them  to understand and appreciate the OWL'S importance in nature.

Process

*     Go to any of the following internet resources available below.

*     Choose an Owl that you'd like to inform the public about!  Do this on note cards or in a notebook .  Document as much information as possible.  Create a rough draft of what your display will look like.

*    Remember, you will need a picture of your owl and anything additional you'd like to add to your area of display.

*    Final, you will need to write interesting facts  about your owl that will be placed on a plaque near the area of your owl's environment. This is to give the public some information on what they are seeing in the display.

*   Add  Color,  and props to make this as lifelike as possible!
