Premier Plant Publications

A Plant Growth WebQuest

By: Christi Cox

Introduction

Congratulations!!! Premier Plant Publications heard the news that you are quickly becoming a plant growth expert. The publishers have been asked to begin a new publication for elementary school students and they need your help. Premier Plant Publications would like for you to use your expertise to design a pamphlet or brochure about plants for their new publication, Primarily Plants.

Task/Process

The Editor in Chief of Primarily Plants, formerly known as your teacher, has provided you with resources to find information, as well as guidelines to follow in order to successfully complete your pamphlet or brochure. There is enough information to produce an informative piece. The attractive design and layout of the pamphlet or brochure will be up to you. If you would like to include additional information from your studies of plant growth or other sources, feel free to do so.

As you gather knowledge about plant growth from the resources provided, you will need to use your journal to take notes and draw illustrations of information you will include in your pamphlet or brochure.

Information in your pamphlet/brochure must include:

how a seed grows into a plant

plant parts and the "job" of each part

how a plant makes its own food

the importance of plants in our lives

glossary of terms

You are not limited to including only the information listed above. If there is other important/interesting facts about the growth of plants that you would like to include, please do so. Remember that illustrations are very helpful in conveying information and will make your final product more appealing/inviting to your audience.
