In a democratic society, each person is ultimately responsible for his or her actions and accountable for those actions to the body of society. In a like manner, we in education are responsible for the education of all students and must stand accountable for that education.
Common sense, however, dictates that many variables, not the least of which is the degree of motivation of the individual student, influence the outcomes of education.
I feel, therefore, that we must be accountable for doing all within our power to see that every student has every opportunity the school provides for his/her education. That, combined with individual motivation and cooperation from the student and the home, should, we hope, provide the maximum in education for all concerned.
